Jeffrey Vallance is... well... look him up if you don't already know (and shame on you)... The following is the briefest description of his excursions to Tonga.

"in 1985, I went to Tonga to meet the King. In Tonga I collaborated with craftspeople like wood carvers, tapa cloth makers, scrimshaw artists, and musicians. Instead of a traditional Tongan band, I found a Punk Rock group called Zero-D, that I collaborated with."

Gaining audience with His Majesty King Taufa’ahau Tupou IV of Tonga, Jeffrey then presented him with a giant pair of swim-fins to fit his lordly feet.
