"Not all music journalists who take a go at being musicians are able to walk it like they professionally talk it. However, Beth Wawerna, an Atlanta-native/Brooklyn-based singer and songwriter, exudes true lyrical introspection interlaced with melodic whimsy in her musical project Bird of Youth. Her band's recently released first album, Defender, co-produced by Will Sheff of Okkervil River, stands as a document to Wawerna's talents on the performing side of the Industry of Human Happiness. For this absolutely live session, she will be presenting a pared-down version of her group, yet without sacrificing an iota of the power and nuance of her songs."
