Aniqatia (an-uh-kay-dee-uh) was formed in the Spring of 2013 by two pairs of long-time Lehigh Valley musicians with the goal to create a distinctive sound that merged all of their varying influences. Locking the band into a specific genre is a difficult task, but Aniqatia combines post-rock, alternative, indie, and emo elements into their songs, leading to an experimental sound that is both refreshing and nostalgic at the same time.
The quartet spent the better part of a year writing their debut EP, titled “Erratics,” and recorded the effort in the outskirts of Philadelphia with renowned engineer Vince Ratti (Circa Survive, Balance & Composure, The Wonder Years). Erratics was released in June of 2014, quickly gaining recognition not just locally, but globally as well. To date, the EP has over 16,000 downloads across various channels and Aniqatia’s songs have been featured in dozens of videos across the Web.
Aniqatia is currently working on writing songs for their next record, as well as playing as many shows as possible to help spread their music to as many as people as possible.
