LAZY SALON on FMA

Lazy Salon on Free Music Archive

The 2017 output from New Jersey’s LAZY SALON is now on the FMA.  ‘Invisible Like Peace’ was the project’s debut full-length originally released in March of last year, and the 3-song ‘Trisset’ EP was released in September.  (the first 3 EP's from the project are also on FMA)

These instrumental tracks weave elements of electronic, ambient, beats/rhythm, shoegaze, post-rock & modern psychedelia with an emphasis on texture, repetition, rhythm and hypnotic melody.

LAZY SALON is producer/multi-instrumentalist Sean Byrne, formerly of The Twin Atlas and drummer with Lenola, Mazarin, BC Camplight and others.

Humid Soundtracking

LAZY SALON: LZY_SLN-003

Anticipating the summer solstice by a few weeks, NJ's Lazy Salon returns with LZY_SLN-003, a new EP of instrumental weird-world music excursions to accompany your slide into a warmer existence.

Fuzzy dub shapes, driving melodic rhythms and languid guitar work propel this set of songs forward within a hazy atmosphere.

Lazy Salon is the home-recording outlet for Sean Byrne, who in a past life was the multi-instrumentalist & vocals for the psych-pop/folk duo The Twin Atlas and former drummer with numerous Philadelphia bands including Lenola, Mazarin, BC Camplight, and others.

Lazy Salon's first two releases are also available on the Free Music Archive here.

Onwards & Upwards

Lazy Salon returns with it's sophomore offering (LZY_SLN-002), a 2-song EP of extended instrumental progressive-pop explorations. The home-recording outlet for Sean Byrne, in a past life the multi-instrumentalist & vocals for the psych-pop/folk duo The Twin Atlas and former drummer with numerous Philadelphia bands including Lenola, Mazarin, BC Camplight, Photon Band, Azusa Plane and others.

Currently residing near the pines of southern/central New Jersey, Lazy Salon churns out atmospheric instrumentals of all stripes.

The new tracks "Halo Hand" and "DAM" are both built upon simple melodic patterns that are then stretched well-out across a variety of different possibilities, with a persistent rhythmic foundation and an array of shifting textures, but underneath it all are some basic pop hooks well-basted in repetition.

RIYL: the stonier side of Yo La Tengo, long-form hazy pop-songs, momentum-rhythms & ear-worm melodics.

Lazy Salon's first release (LZY_SLN-001) is also available on the Free Music Archive.
