US Girls + Noveller on tour: live @ Queering Sound (mp3s)

Noveller and U.S. Girls are in the midst of a joint tour, and today Zeromoon shares recordings from their first stop along the way at Artisphere in Roslyn, Virginia on June 11, 2011 as part of the annual QUEERING Sound Festival, presented by Triangle Artists and DC Sonic Circuits. Sonic Circuits, which is the live music arm of Zeromoon (in case you're wondering how the DC label/netlabel of Violet/Jeff Surak got ahold of these recordings), also presents an annual festival of experimental music that has previously hosted the likes of Faust and Magma.
Noveller (FMA / www) is the solo project of Brooklyn-based filmmaker, sound artist, and former Parts & Labor guitarist Sarah Lipstate. She's touring in support of a Glacial Glow on Weird Forest, and has previously been featured on the FMA by ISSUE Project Room.
U.S. Girls (FMA / www) is also the project of one singular girl: Megan Remy, formerly of Chicago and now based in Philadelphia, with previous releases on Chocolate Monk, Siltbreeze, Not Not Fun, and a track on our FMA Pre-Launch Sampler. When US Girls stopped by Scott Williams' WFMU program in 2008, he described the performance as a "maelstrom of classic pop filtered through something unknowable and kinda crazy... imagine Phil Spector covered by The Conet Project, or The Dave Clark 5 as done by a gang of angry ghosts," and with recent performances like this one, that US Girls vision is even more blurily refined. U.S. Girls is touring with a new split 12" w/ Slim Twig on Palmist Records.
The tour is near its mid-way point with tonight's show in Montreal, where they'll be connecting with The Pink Noise, and they'll be joined by WFMU faves Talk Normal for Detroit and Chicago shows. The tour ends June 26th at Bruar Falls in Brooklyn, tour dates after the jump and/or at the artists' websites (Noveller / US Girls)
