Joanna Preciado: new beats from Black Ant

I asked Black Ant what's the deal behind his new beat tape, Joanna Preciado. Like, who is that on the digital cover? The teenage beatmaker from Hollywood Florida explained:

"i saw this picture of a girl i know, Joanna, and we were always jokin that she was me. cause my initials are JP and so are hers. and I told her i got a bunch of beats that fit this picture, lemme use it. she said yes. and i just found 15 beats that went along with the picture. it wasn't nothin i made for the photo, just sketches i had in my head."


J.P. brings the same kind of rough-beats-coated-in-syrup as Black Ant's Free Beats Sel. 3, of which Macedonia had a nice write-up back in February. He described Black Ant as "on his way to being a pad-punching, knob-twiddling Jedi" and that sounds  definitely agree. Last I heard from Black Ant he was off to make another beat, honing his craft, but these are still just sketches (and a bit rawer than Sel. 3 actually) so I'd love to hear something more complete.


Actually, what I'd really love to hear is some of these Creative Commons BY-NC-SA Black Ant beats mashed with Kiila for Issue Project Room's remix contest...
