The Future of Music Coalition launched an online survey today that will gather crucial information about the ways that musicians and composers are currently generating income, and how this has changed over the past five years.
The survey is one component of FMC's groundbreaking Artist Revenue Streams project which surprisingly marks the first time a US-based organization has undertaken this type of research. While we may have our own personal theories and experience to reference, this comprehensive analysis of how a wide range of musicians are actually being compensated in the digital age will be an invaluable resource, so we encourage all US-based artists and composers to take part in the survey here.
I've picked out a few favorite songs by My Teenage Stride, Pregnant, Stefana Fratila, and Olneyville Sound System to listen to while you're at it. Please note that the Olneyville Sound System song is not FCC safe. Click the links to learn more about each artist and support them so that they can continue to make great music!
