Mitoma is the newest musical creation from the same two happy Scotsmen behind the Altered:Carbon project, an album which sonically aims more towards dark dancefloor orientated sounds than the aforementioned alias. "Interstellar Debris" has been described as:
"...an excellent journey of sonic proportions. Razor sharp rhythms pulse frenetically over an open spaced and futuristic backdrop. There are moments that hint of rust and mechanical decay, as beautiful tones dance and weave behind writhing chemical reactions which would make a befitting soundtrack to the birth of the universe. Put simply, a stunning and moving piece of sound art." (J.Straw)

"Odessa Sea" is Oleksandr Gladun's 2nd release on Section 27 as Dunaewsky69, having previously released music on great labels like Shaped Harmonics, Kvitnu and Awkward Silence we are honoured to have him back for another outing that suitably serves as a follow up to his previous title "Detimorya".
Each track a process, starting somewhere and finishing in an entirely different place, it takes the ideas presented in Detimorya and takes them up a notch. Industrial beats reminiscent of the types of work of Coil made interspersed with huge waves of melodic textures create a wonderfully opposing soundtrack to a science fiction movie that has not yet been made.

Second release on Section 27 from the ever prolific German producer Christoph Schindling. If you are familiar with Schindling’s sound you will notice there’s a more melancholic feel to this new album, as the name suggests – “Manic Depression” – the moods shift over the course of 70 minutes in an unforseen way, and ends with the ethereal “Exit” and “You & Me”. Christoph has stated the tracks contained on Manic Depression are very personal to him, which can be heard evidently. Another solid release to his extensive output!

Fitting back into a darker sort of vibe here at S27 courtesy of Christopher Lombardo, better known as Silent Strangers, who offers up his first in a four-part series of releases called Anagram. Its first piece Anagram1:Dither is a journey into sounds that cling to dark spaces, where alter-dimensional atmospheres bubble like tar and comes laced with liquidised metallic rhythms that burrow deep into your conscious. A strikingly visual and detailed work and like the final track suggests - "Ever Evolving Spaces", this is one for the headphones.
The release can be found on FMA, follow this LINK to listen or download.

The artists' sophomore album on Section 27 and the final release from the label of 2010, Floating Spirits delivers another dose of his super chilled works and expands on his previous release "Transmit" with three remixes of the track "Black & White Transmissions" produced by Christoph Schindling, Nonima, and Ubique. All mixes bring something different to the table, yet never sound out of place with the rest of the album, and what better way to take us into the new year.

2010 has been the year where we have expanded our artist roster and amassed a healthy range of different sounds, this S27 debut from Pablo Ribot being no exception! A first for the label in terms of how it sounds but ticks all the relevant boxes that makes it into our "We Love This" category. Urban Metaphor is a crazy concoction of electronic Squarepusher-esque jazz, breakbeats, hip-hop, a pinch of glitch and baked in the Ninja Tune oven for 33 minutes. You could always reheat it again, without the worry of food poisoning. Essential listening!

"Hilander" (and its accompanying instrumentals) are the lab results returned when two artists separated by the sea but not digitally are fused together and lurch forward to destroy your preconceptions of where Hip Hop belongs and where you think Electronic music is supposed to be heading.
Kendall Washington brings his particularly intriguing brand of Hip replacement Hop firing on all cylinders to meet glitchy electronic genre defiers Altered:Carbon who on this release, download the real Kendall, merge him and produce a undeniably gripping and original .exe file in the form of a hard to define sound. At times echoes of a darker Brothomstates filter through only to be turned upside down by rap laced riddles and a forceful blend of sharpened machine beats, head nodding laced storms and cracked mournful shadows of melodies and FX.
This is a place of heavy layers, lyrical meaning and programming that brings you to a raining bleak apothecary where only machines and thoughts live.

Some may remember Hellmood B. Ware as the artist "Count Duckula" who appeared on both of our S27 Compilations, he's back with a new name but hasn't lost any of the formula which made his previous moniker a treat. Forget The Old, We Need A Newmanity is 7 tracks of hard industrial sounds that distort and resonate a kindred spirit with the material Throbbing Gristle and Coil produced over the years, but given a modern day twist. The intro track "Alice" for example starts with a relentless beat that reminds this reviewer of Autechre's "LCC" track which dissipates into discordant notes played through a steam engine. The rest of the record keeps this standard and has some beautiful moments too, as evidenced in "Liebe ist..." As said by Hellmood himself, Duckula is history. And what an evolution it's been.

“Nonima & theAudiologist” is no more. Introducing their new project “Mitoma”, a more inverse sidestep from their existing "Altered:Carbon" project which focuses more on an amalgamation of rich and detailed textures, intricate drum programming, warm tonal atmospheres and is an exciting new chapter in their musical partnership. They released their first self titled EP independently - cat no. [MIT-001] - through Bandcamp on 9th September 2010 in a variety of high fidelity formats, which can be found HERE. Due to recent changes on the site which directly affect free downloads we have setup an alternative download through the FMA.
A full length release will be out on Section 27 Netlabel scheduled for the fall of 2010 - early 2011.

Introducing our latest release and another debut from a new artist, meet "Floating Spirits" who appeared on the "We Are One" compilation with the track "Black & White Transmissions" which also appears on this album. This is a foray into what we call "maximal" dub with ethereal soundscapes, the record crackles and hisses along with just the right amount of rhythm without detracting from its chilled atmosphere. Perfect for both sunshine and late night listening.
Look out for a future remixes EP from Floating Spirits featuring reinterpretations from this album by artists including Christoph Schindling and Nonima. In the meantime immerse yourself in "Transmit"...
