Nonima - "Jinx" now released via Mitoma Industries

The material featured on Jinx was created and synthesised from the same DNA as Morphism (released Sept. 2011), and conceived to be heard as a companion to that album rather than a standalone release. Follows and expands on from the sonic pallette created on the former release, Jinx may be his strongest work yet.

Featuring new material and twisted reinterpretations by Mitoma, Johnny Jitters, Noumen and Dissolved.

theAudiologist - long awaited new album "Idios Kosmos" now released

It's been sometime since theAudiologist's "Question Everything", and followup "Ophiuchi" which was released on the EOS netlabel in 2010. In between then and now he has concentrated his efforts as the driving force behind Altered:Carbon and Mitoma, both parallels to his solo work and brilliantly "Idios Kosmos" draws such experience gained in these ventures and applies them to his existing palletes, creating a brilliant "dark vs light" dual atmosphere all over this album.

Melodic elements are the skeletal framework of Idios Kosmos, with splintered glitchy hip-hop beats and hyper-edited effects carrying the listener along for the ride into interstellar landscapes. Also features a remix of "Jinx" originally produced by Nonima, theAudiologist's take on the track nurtures it into more fragile sounding territory, and in return gets remix treatment on "Opasenye", twisting the frailty of the original into an electronic stomper of ever evolving percussion and uplifting synths.

It may have been a while, but hell was it worth it... Welcome back.

THKAD - [ROMB]

Debut release on S27 from Russian artist Victor Piperov, better known as THKAD. This angular piece of work called [ROMB] is crystalline and surgical electronica, the sound of frozen landscapes on an alien planet. The beats are precise, the melodies spiky and some would say that it draws some parallels with a certain Warp Records duo but these tracks hold their own territory without trying to imitate. Closing the release is a stomping bonus remix from our very own Mitoma, who take "1 D xop" to the Industries and replace its heart with electronic components and a militaristic brain. A polished effort from THKAD and we look forward to hearing future experiments. Enjoy.

Syndrôm - Dans Les Terres

Its been a while since we released music by Pavillon36 Recordings founder Syndrôm, whose last appearance was way back at [S27-013] with the breakcore/jungle flavoured Sans Titre EP. Since then he has appeared on the three S27 compilations, produces as part of Mayhem Perception (also featured on our [S27-043] Compilation) and released the "Nomades En No Man's Land" album via the Bypass label last year. "Dans Les Terres" picks up where the previous album left off, unlike Sans Titre this release stays away from faster tempos and into some genre bending work that opens with fusing elements of dub, hip-hop, breaks, swaggering basslines, native chants and even borrows from jazz, all put through the spin cycle for 32 minutes. Perfect listening for those who enjoy to light up and bliss out to some blunted beats.

Dissolved "Project 168" work now available in one collection

Brand new release for Section 27 from Scottish / Canadian resident Dissolved, this collection brings together music handpicked from four Dissolved EP's that were originally recorded between 2005 and 2009 for the ambitious "Project 168", a unique online project that ran for almost 4 years in which the artist had only 7 days to record an EP and submit it. This particular set of music was chosen by the artist himself and best represents the impressive quality of these creations.

If you're familiar with his work (see the previous S27 release with Trills, "PH:14" or his prolific back catalogue for reference) then you know already what to expect, timestretched tape loops, twisted and bent melodies from the depths, stomping industrial beats, scratchy EVP and found samples all riding a psychedelic wave. Sadly as we write it appears "Project 168" is no more so we're very proud to bring this collection to those who may have missed it first time around.

"Vaporous Weeks" can be downloaded or streamed here in the FMA, visit HERE.

New album from Nonima - "Morphism"

With a healthy back catalogue of varied albums, EP's and remixes under each of his guises, this new Nonima album entitled "Morphism" follows last year remarkable and well received outing "Karmadebt".

Any influences that might be apparent under the surface here have a far more interesting catchment area, echoes of early Richard Devine, the droning sensibilities and head pounding beats and experimentalism of Mick Harris, the micro detail and machineisms of Lexaunculpt and Arovane put in the freezer and deconstructed further, the confidence and energy of Glasgow's Slam and Soma but without any glowsticks or drunken fumbles. Nonima brings beats and he wants you to get lost, dance like a skeleton and bring them to your Science lab to extract their DNA. If your name's not down though, you're not getting in. [Dissolved's full review of the album can be read HERE]

Altered:Carbon get "Reassembled"

Originally released in Feburary 2010, Altered:Carbon made its' debut with self-titled album Altered:Carbon to a very receptive audience. With the help of 16 artists from S27 and friends of the label, we present this excellent remixes collection "Reassembled", the featured artists used the source material from the original release and took it to pieces in their own way, creating a fresh new take of the album.

27B - Signal Jammer EP

27B is a DJ/Producer out of our native Glasgow, UK. Whilst not being involved in the city's pre-club night Trench and a radio show on Subcity called INDUSTRY (which we were recently featured on) he creates infectious electronic music aimed at the dancefloor. His first EP for Section 27 called "Signal Jammer" is a bitesize little release and a break away into some more experimental territory for the artist. Over its 15 minutes, Signal Jammer incorporates elements of house, techno, glitch and dark ambient sounds all blended seamlessly into one solid collection.

Pinklogik - Inverse EP

After a small absence and a couple of single releases appearing since 2009, Pinklogik returns with a lovely new 6 track EP, "Inverse". Having two independently released full-length albums (Mosaic Electro / Learning To Trust Higher Frequencies) and a remix collection "LTTHF:Remixed" released on this very label, Inverse picks up right where LTTHF's journey ended. If you are familiar with her music, you'll be happy to know that the signature infectious and playful melodic elements are still intact on this release, and introduces some new vibes such as the more sombre moments like "Dreams Of Summer" or the techno fused "Phosphene Dance". The feel of Pinklogik's music is distinctly vintage, but refreshingly so. Welcome back, we've missed you.

Sectioned v2.0 Compilation

Celebrating our 2nd year of all things S27, this super-sized compilation was lovingly created by the artists and friends of the label. Containing many diverse styles of electronic music, it serves as a document of the sounds that have come from Section 27 since its inception back in April 2009, and also covers the sounds of the coming months ahead. The album has also been split into chapters known as "Quadrants 1-4" each with their own sound and atmosphere.

Many thanks to everybody involved in this project and we hope you share and enjoy it. Play loud.
