Macchiato Funky - "Bugella 20-50" [LBN042]

"Past is our watermark, spotted with light and shade.

Present engages us in constant change.

Future lets our imagination flow."

Go Ask Alice - "Perfection is terrible" [LBN040]

http://www.labelnetlabel.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/art-cover.png

This self-produced EP is the first work by Go Ask Alice: eight instrumental tracks, composed between 2012 and 2013, recorded and mixed by Matteo Spinazzé, in collaboration with Curzio Ferri playing drums and Andrea Oggiano with his acoustic guitar.

Perfection is terrible is the first verse of Sylvia Plath’s poem “The Munich Mannequins”.

“Perfection” here is completeness, closure, inability to evolve and reborn, perfection is death.

Perfection is indeed terrible, can’t have a child, just as Plath’s Munich Mannequins, cold marble statues, beautiful and perfect, frozen with us in a never ending present, the immense futureless present of the “capitalist realism”: the end of history.

Channel Surfing - "Paradox In The Bathroom" [LBN039]

Channel Surfing - "Paradox In The Bathroom" [LBN039] (April 29, 2017)

Channel Surfing is a quasi-vaporwave project. Meaning that it predates vaporwave, and was initially influenced by the glitch and idm scenes of the 90′s and early 2000′s. With Channel Surfing, the focus is on microhouse and shoegaze. On ‘Paradox In The Bathroom’. . . I took a detour, and focused on lyrics. This time, it was the political solitude of an uncertain future. The in-between moments, of both turmoil and tranquility in America. Sonically, ‘Paradox’ uses Sound Design as a songwriting tool. Drum machines were treated like synthesizers, field recordings were processed like guitars. It is a very environmental spin on the “rock formula”. Channel Surfing is the band from the Mojave Desert. The locus of Channel Surfing is “Ethereal Synthesis” in all it’s various forms. From album to album, the locus changes, falling together or falling apart, but the same ethereal techniques apply in different ways. Sometimes, outspoken and political, other times, quiet and interspective. Enjoy. . .

Safir Nòu - "Groundless" [LBN036]

Safir Nòu (Antonio Firinu) is a composer, guitarist and accordionist. The music collected in the album Groundless could be identified as “total music”, influenced by different styles and genres, from world music to post-rock to jazz. The sounds and the melodies bring the listener to an ethereal and hypnotic dimension, which is the “groundless” dimension indeed.

Groundless is the result of uncountable hours of work and joy under the belief that music has to be created merely out of emotions, in order to touch the mind of the listener and the creators themselves. Producing this recording involved the hands and the help of many people, not all of them listed here, who supported this project in different ways to make it possible, sometimes not even aware of it. To all of you, we are very grateful. We hope you enjoy this album as much as we do. Your donation will serve to support this and future works of groundless music.

[LBN032] Samurau – “Things left unsaid” (December 07, 2015)

"Things Left Unsaid" is not only the testimony of a precise moment, but rather the result of a long research, composition and improvisation done by the band: there's a  common area where  musical elements from diametrically opposed musical worlds such as jazz and contemporary music, rock and blues coexist without forgetting the melodic vocation in each composition.

Samurau: the band  (Michele Sanna - guitars; Matteo Muntoni – el.bass; Alessandro Garau- drums) after a long period of mutual courtship and knowledge among the members, was officially founded in 2014: the aim is to satisfy the need to blend in total freedom, sounds, music, different styles through their own compositions.

Nick Rivera - "Zamalek"

Zamalek is an island in Cairo in the middle of the Nile, but also a neighbourhood, something in between. This album by Nick Rivera is about the sky you can't see from this island and the things that swim in it. Zamalek is a warm cuddle from your trusted friend, a fist in the nape from your best enemy.

[LBN022] Daniele Pasini, Raffaele Pilia - "Northern lights"

Pasini-Pilia duo was born on an August afternoon of 2012, during a successful improvisation session aimed at achieving a musical experience without any coordinate or previous scheme.

Despite totally different musical backgrounds and never having played together before, the two musicians found a strong agreement in free improvisation. This convinced them to pursue a shared research project and complete the first series of recordings with a second impro session by January 2013.

Northern Lights” flows from a common passion for Northern Europe landscapes, which freely inspired most of their songs. Recalling the fascinating phenomenon of the aurora borealis, the album offers a collection of eight instant composition pieces for flute and classical guitar.

[LBN021] Geometrie Variabili – “the Breath”

The lesson of Steve Lacy: starting from a single element like a scale, a broken chord, a sound, a breath in order to work it up by assembling and disassembling, tearing apart and rebuilding. Fragments of ideas taken freely in an exercise of rearrangement always looking for coherence, always trying to get back to basics.
