Classwar Karaoke 0032 Survey is published!

Classwar Karaoke is an online label primarily based around an ongoing series of quarterly surveys - in effect, largescale compilations - published online mainly through the Free Music Archive, on each of the last days of February, May, August and November. It hosts material culled from the experimental scene, including electro-acoustic, improv, free jazz, acusmatic, soundart, field recordings, cut-up, avant-rock, noise, ambient and sound poetry.

Classwar Karaoke was founded by Anthony Donovan in March 2008; with the first survey appearing a few months later. The label only truly came into it's own, however, when Jaan Patterson joined as co-curator later the same year. Concerted efforts to expand and professionalise the label ensued. Jaan Patterson founded suRRism-Phonoethics, as a platform for full-scale releases. Many crossovers in personnel and outlook were evident between these projects, and, after a two year hiatus, upon his return, Patterson invited Donovan to similarly co-curate at suRRism-Phonoethics. Between them, and via these two projects, Donovan and Patterson have, by now, released hundreds of pieces of music and short-films, attracting many tens-of-thousands of hits.

Included in the Classwar Karaoke and suRRism-Phonoethics roll-calls are internationally-recognised artits such as Bob Ostertag, Fred Frith, Rhys Chatham, Bryan Lewis Saunders, Leif Elggren, Adrian Belew, Lol Coxhill, Peter Brotzmann, Evan Parker, Geoff Leigh, Otomo Yoshihide, Terry Bozzio, Nate Young, Michael Giles, Keith Tippett, Scanner, Jaap Blonk, Jochen Arbeit, Steve Beresford, Leafcutter John, Ludo Mich, Gino Robair and Zoviet*France, as well as an impressive array of lesser-known but equally innovative artists. Live gigs, mini-festivals and specialist multi-media releases have also featured, and physical releases, of limited edition CDRs and audio-tapes, are planned for the future.

Ergo Phizmiz 'Collected Sound Installations'

Ergo Phizmiz 'Collected Sound Installations'

suRRism-Phonoethics proudly presents Ergo Phizmiz 'Collected Sound Installations 2002-2010'!

'Ergo Phizmiz¬
...with lips of rusty time across comes and umbrella my sound
screaming fast tackled idea crumbling neck folding squiRts...
i upon coin less mentions 'a true threshold of infinity'
this music more than a quantum classical deterministic probability!
interpretations do apply most there & within well
as those aspects will invent probabilities...
irreducible wonderland quality in mathematics!
ceiling, and bag came left to the "off" then slow smacking the another "why"
just sprung the brake, fire see plastic...
though sin{ema} have any here together - fruit & put else, concrete dazzlingly feathers
releasing uncapped and tossed captured frames gathered as one perennial!'

suRRism-Phonoethics is thrilled to release Qkcofse's - 'M.D.E.' Album!

'Molecular Detournement Egregore'
This sound project emerged from my musical and noise pursuits in 2006.
Quantities of Excitation refers to the libidinal energy of the human nervous system
while Kandinsky-Clerambault Syndrome describes a condition
where one is fearful of surveillance while being obsessed with celebrities.

This self-censorship and concentration of looking are aspects of what surrealists call
miserabilism—the depreciation of reality instead of its exaltation.

Thus these largely improvisational ‘songs’ are anti-miserabilist sound spells and lo-fi noise aerobics.
My intention was to reach a trance state or emotional catharsis and let the possibilities unfold.
Instruments include prepared guitar, processed and toy electronicsfound soundsamplified objects,
voicebox flutedetuned scanner, and pre-recorded tapes.

The title of the album, Molecular Detournement Egregore, reflects my interest in surrealistsituationist,
and occult practices which can reveal and stimulate ‘unnatural connections’ through subversive imagination.
Detourning or hijacking the foundations of matter away from their habitual functions
empowers the surrealist egregore or ‘sentient tradition’ while encouraging free play
.
Shibek, July 2010.

'exploring the uterus of the suns.'
