License music for commercial movies.

by Kamiil - Sun Mar 4, 2012 5:48pm

Hello
I'm new here. I can not even much English.
Filming in the Czech Republic videos for small business and I need to get them to music.
What license do I look?
Thank you for your answer, Regards

I'm new here too, but it seems like there is no easy way to search music by license type. You just have to go song by song and see which artists allow commercial use licenses.

Anyone know if there is an easier way?

Okay, after some digging I found there are Curators that organize music with commercial licenses, here's one I found

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I look at it. Creative Commons licenses is that I need?

There are several more places to look (I did even more digging yesterday)

Music For Video

This list has music that's been cleared to use in video, but mostly non-commercial video.

Yes, I think Creative Commons (CC) Attributtion is the best one. Also, in the Search box, just hit enter. An advanced search form will appear. It'll have check boxes that allow you to filter music based on their licenses. When I did a search, there were around 600 tracks with CC. Could be more out there though. Good Luck!

I hope you'll post a link to your finished film so I can watch it :-)
