What are you listening to?
I recently picked up the Shangan Electro comp "New Wave Dance Music from South Africa". It's so fast it's almost slow, with kind of awesomely cheesey MIDI.
It's mostly produced by this one guy, Richard "Nozinja" Mthetwa, who also takes the lead on a few songs. AfroPop Worldwide did a great interview with him
Johnny Winter's "Johnny Winter" on Columbia (1969). The Legacy remaster from 2004 on CD. What a great sounding album. Nice drumming and the guitar's nothing to sneeze at either :)

I was on a Robert Ashley kick for a long, long time. Like, I'd listen to Perfect Lives in full a couple times a week.
That and "Recently Added Highlights." Anyone else just find the weirdest stuff on this sidebar that never seems to make it to the front page (Už Jsme Doma, I'm looking at you)?
Currently loving :
Ali Farka Touré & Toumani Diabaté - Ali & Toumani
VA - Nigeria Disco Funk Special
Saadoun Al-Bayati - Songs of Iraq (1973) [reissued on CD in 2003]
enjoying the ephedrine hiphop movement of Weird Forest (Lil B, Expressway YoYo Dieting), good to know Sensational made some kinda impact with someone down the line. Shadow Kingdom's margins-metal of the 80s reissues have been kicking my ass too (esp. the Manilla Road radio session, Crisis, Deep Switch, Serpent Night, Jameson Raid and Iron Man (who killed at the WFMU/Aquarius SXSW show last year), that Walter Gibbons Jungle Music anthology on strut is really a great discovery recently too. Also digging the Sheldon Spiegel/Razen 12" on KRAAK quite a bit.
The alphabetical thing - Alexander Rabbit - Bloodrock - Coven - Demian - Eric B & Rakim - Flash - Goliath - Robert Hazard and the Heroes - Isis - Jobriath - Kannibal Komix - Locust - Mama Lion - Norma Tanega - Osibisa - Puzzle - Mike Quatro - Rhinoceros - Sharks - Trapeze - Uriah Heep - Jerry Vale - White Witch - XYZ - Timi Yuro - Zephyr
Personally-- I've been digging on Dominique Leone's "Abstract Expression"--- the much improving follow-up to his already awesome self titled debut. It's really great, well-composed "pop" music. The Laughing Dogs' first album--- particularly the opening track "Get Im Outta Town" has been getting a lot of plays from me as well. I really like this video of the group...
also rollin around... Plus-Tech Squeezebox's first album, "Mean to Me" by Crowded House, Floored by Four, "Know Your Chicken" by Cibo Matto, Awesome Color, House Arrest by Ariel Pink...
Cibo Matto - Know Your Chicken

Also diggin the new Running on Permanent Records (hardcore dub?), the new Pumice / Olympus/ and Coolies LPs, and the Rob Jo Starr Band reissue.

We listened to this on repeat last weekend while at the beach. Great Oktoberfest beech music, if there ever was such a thing.

As they say: "If u have smth to say — get in touch. Any propositions will be answered."
And as I was told in Helsinki, by a drunken dark haired Marylin Monroe: "When you come to the Ukraine, YOU WILL NOT believe it". The only phrase she knew in English and she fell asleep over the piano... just ask Nadia and Filip.
Alphabets (Denver, CO, the States) has a growing collection of his music (all free) on his blogspot that I've been enjoying. Find it here.
Maria y José's Espiritu Invisible LP (Tijuana, Mexico) came out a bit ago, but it still one of the best youth/contemporary works of the year. He also released a Afro-dance influenced e.p calle the Kibose E.P. Find them both at his tumblr.
Eola (side project of Tonsstartbandht) has an EP for free you can download here.
Algodon Epico (Venezuela), a side project of Jovenés y Sexys, has a darkwave ep that came out a month ago that's pretty solid and received some attention from Club Fonograma and then Pitchfork.
Find his soundcloud here.
