Hippie Beats

Hi all!  Well I jumped head first into all these free and legal MP3's and I am loving life.  I was a bit overwhelmed but super excited to see how many awesome tracks that are already uploaded in the electronic section.  I thought maybe I could wade through some of these tracks and try to help pick out a few of the many gems that can be found here.

One of the first artists on the FMA site that I happened upon was Blanketship (Jared Blum) who might be familiar to WFMU listeners (he has appeared twice on Liz Berg's show).  If you like hazy, trippy beats that are upbeat with lots of great samples then this should be up your alley.  Blanketship reminds me of some of the artists on the Ghost Box label but with less mystery and an almost nostalgic nod towards the 60's and 70's.  Check out "Lucky 45" which was featured on the Summer Set LP on the awesome Gigante Sound label back in 2005.
